Whether you’ve attended college before or not, this College is unique as it is part of the only military-specific university where students can earn a degree in the health sciences ranging from the Associate Degree level  to the Post-Doctorate Degree level and everyting in between.

CAHS Student Information

The staff of the USU College of Allied Health Sciences presents information about its educational opportunities during every New Comers Orientation Brief that is hosted by the tenant organization.  Individuals who are interested in applying for admission to the USU CAHS are sent detailed information that is focused on the admission process requirements, as well as an active link to the USU CAHS online application.

The USU CAHS Registrar’s Office will evaluate all submitted applications for qualifying requirements. Conditional acceptances may be issued pending the receipt of all required documentation.

Once all required documentation has been received, evaluated, and has satisfied all admission requirements, the candidate will receive an official letter from the CAHS Dean congratulating them on their acceptance and enrollment into the College of Allied Health Sciences. Further, students will be notified of the appropriate school and degree plan in which they have been enrolled. 


New CAHS Students ­- As a condition to enrollment, all newly enrolled students are required to provide the CAHS Registrar with official copies of their academic transcripts from the original source within four weeks of registration. 


  • Joint Service Transcript (obtainable at the JST website)
  • Credit by Examination (CLEP, DANTES, ACT, PEP, Excelsior College’s UExcel Program, Straighterline Online College Courses, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programs, etc.)
  • Experiential or Co-Curricular Learning
  • Prior Learning Assessments (e.g. ACE Transcripts, NCCRS Transcripts)

All current and Alumni students of the USU CAHS who desire copies their Official USU CAHS Transcript(s) are required to fill out and submit the Transcript Request Form via email to . Please allow 5-7 business days for processing.

All student applicants who were accepted and enrolled into the CAHS are informed of their scheduled start date according to their academic goals and assigned degree paths.  There are specific requirements that must be met in order for students to be considered fully enrolled and enabled to matriculate without condition.   Failure to have all required admission documents completed and submitted to the CAHS Registrar’s Office within the required timeline will result in a conditional enrollment.      

The CAHS Registrar’s Office must receive all official transcripts within four weeks of student registration.  It is highly encouraged that the enrolled student make this a top priority.  Failure to provide transcripts to the Registrar’s Office will result in the following sequence of events:

  • No transcripts within four weeks of registration: Warning of Suspension (WoS) Letter issued by CAHS Assistant Dean of Enrollment Services.
  • No transcripts within six weeks of registration and WoS: Official Letter of Suspension (LoS) issued by the Associate Dean of prospective college (Undergraduate or Graduate).
  • No transcripts by the time studies are complete, WoS, and LoS: Letter of expulsion issued by the CAHS Dean.

All of the above-mentioned letters of noncompliance are inclusive to the official academic record and filed as permanent documents.


The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The USU CAHS Registrar cannot release, permit inspection, or permit review of your educational records to spouses, parents, friends, family members or any other designated responsible party without your prior written consent.  Please fill out and sign the CAHS FERPA Release Authorization Form and send to the CAHS Registrar’s Office.


All students will have student accounts established to enable them access to the internet based Student Information System, EMPOWER. These are referred to as Student SSO accounts. The following documents are required to be submitted to for account origination:

  • Completed DD Form 2875, System Authorization Access Request (SAAR)
  • Current DoD Cyber Awareness Certificate of Training (< 12 months from completion). If Certificate of Training is greater than 12 months, please visit the following site and complete the required training. Please activate the following site at:  DoD Cyber Awareness Training
  • CAHS FERPA Release Authorization Form (downloadable from above link of this page)


Please help the CAHS Registrar keep your records accurate and current.  For all CAHS students (both past and present) who have had personal information change, please submit a Personal Information Update Form to the CAHS Registrar’s Office .  Please allow 5-7 days for updates to reflect in academic records.


All diploma reorders are handled through the USUHS’s main campus Registrar Office in Bethesda, Maryland.  If you have a need to reorder your diploma(s) from the USU CAHS, please fill out the Diploma Request Form and send to the following address:

IMPORTANT- Please ensure that check or money orders are payable to Oak Hall Cap & Gown.  Before sealing the envelope, please make sure that

o   The request form is signed and dated

o   Check or money order is made out to Oak Hall Cap & Gown

Student Advisement Services

The CAHS begins its student advisement services early on in the admissions process.  Our highly qualified Academic Advisors meet with all students and discuss their requirements for active registration and  desired academic goals. Working collaboratively, the student and advisor will identify and establish the most advantageous educational paths and options for the student’s career field. The CAHS Advisor team is dedicated to the academic success of our students as we train for the mission and educate for a lifetime of service!

All graduating CAHS students will be afforded the opportunity to participate in a multi-institutional semi-annual commencement ceremony that is hosted by the local base Educational Services Office. Students may contact the local Educational Services Office for more information.

Additionally, USU hosts an annual graduation ceremony held on Armed Forces Day at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. The event incorporates the traditions and pomp and circumstance of both military service and academia. Any CAHS student desiring to participate in the annual USU commencement ceremony (usually in May) must coordinate with the main campus for inclusion.
