Do not assume that attendance or participation in a meeting, retreat, "get together" workshop, exhibition, etc will be exempt from the new DoD conference guidelines: obtain confirmation by checking with a responsible official.
Begin by consulting the References provided, particularly "29 September 2012 Implementation of Conference Oversight Requirements..." page 12 for definition of a "conference", and page 13 for definitions of "exempt."
