Signs and Symptoms of a mild TBI

  • Common symptoms of a concussion include: dizziness, headache, sleep disturbance, vision changes, balance changes, fatigue, attention and memory problems, irritability and mood changes.
  • Most people who have a concussion recover quickly, with symptoms disappearing within a few hours to a few weeks.
  • In some people, TBI symptoms can last longer than a few weeks.
  • Recovery may be longer in older adults, young children and teens.
  • In severe cases, a TBI can lead to coma or death.
