This most prestigious lectureship of the university is named in honor of the former Deputy Secretary of Defense (1969 to 1971), co-founder of the Hewlett-Packard Company, and the second president of the Uniformed Services University, serving from 1976 to 1981.  

This year's speaker will be Cynthia M. Bulik, Ph.D., FAED
,  University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Department of Psychiatry,
 Professor of Nutrition, Gillings School of Global Public Health, 
Founding Director, UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders
 , and Co-Director, UNC Center for Psychiatric Genomics .
