Dr. Bunt received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan.  While at Michigan, he ran on the Cross-Country and Track & Field teams, and was selected Team Captain for the Outdoor Track & Field team during his senior year.

Dr. Bunt received his M.D. from USU, and completed his Residency in Family Medicine at Malcolm Grow Medical Center on Andrews Air Force Base.  

Dr. Bunt completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill.

After residency graduation, Dr. Bunt joined the faculty in the joint military-civilian Family Medicine Residency program at Offutt Air Force Base and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  While in Omaha, NE Dr. Bunt was the Director of Pre-Doctoral Education (Medical Student Coordinator) and served as the Assistant Residency Program Director.  He also co-directed the Faculty Development Curriculum for all 42+ faculty members in the joint residency program and was the Director of the Evidence Based Medicine Curriculum for all medical students.

Dr. Bunt is the Faculty Advisor for the USU Family Medicine Interest Group, directs the Resident Faculty Development Program and teaches in 14 separate courses at USU.  

Dr. Bunt practices full-spectrum Family Medicine in the University Family Health Center.  He recently took over as the Medical Director for the Military Primary Care Research Network.

Dr. Bunt holds a secondary appointment in the Graduate School of Nursing, teaching in Evidence Based Practice.

Dr. Bunt's research interests include Evidence Based Medicine, Medical Decision Support and Faculty Development.
