Dr. Torre is an Associate Professor of medicine at the Uniformed Services University. He teaches and pursues research in Health Professions Education. Dr. Torre received his medical degree from the University of Rome and completed a three-year General Internal Medicine research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University, where he received a Master degree in Public Health. He completed a doctorate in adult and continuing education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where his dissertation was on the cognitive processes of medical students in clinical reasoning using a newly developed concept mapping exercise.

Research Interests

His research interests include use of concept maps in medical education, the study of theoretical foundations of learning applied to educational methods, the development of innovative instructional material, and the exploration of cognitive processes of group learning using qualitative inquiry.
