Biography
COL Angueira entered an Internal Medicine residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) on 1 July, 1984. In June 1987, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and was assigned to Darnall Army Community Hospital (DACH) in Ft. Hood, Texas as a staff internist.
In January 1988, COL Angueira attended the Officer’s Advanced Course in residence at the AMEDD Center and School. Upon completion of this course in May 1988, he was assigned as the Chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic at BAMC where he remained for two years. In May 1990, COL Angueira deployed with the 28th Combat Support Hospital to Costa Rica for a Humanitarian Assistance mission. He served as Chief Medical Officer and was directly responsible for the care given to over 1500 local civilians.
In July 1990, COL Angueira began a Gastroenterology Fellowship at BAMC and, for the following two years, his efforts were concentrated in academic medicine and the study of Gastroenterology. He completed his fellowship in June 1992 and remained at BAMC as a staff gastroenterologist.
Upon completion of his fellowship, COL Angueira was assigned to BAMC. He served as Staff Gastroenterologist, Assistant Chief Gastroenterology Service and, BAMC Risk Manager. In September 1998, he deployed with the 41st CSH as commander of the unit supporting the 1st Cavalry Division in Operation Joint Forge, Bosnia. COL Angueira was directly responsible for coordinating the delivery of level III medical care to approximately 15,000 US and NATO troops in a forward deployed environment. During this six month deployment, the unit saw approximately 10,000 patients, performed 60 surgical procedures, conducted multiple joint exercises with other NATO medical units and hosted several continuing medical education programs for a multinational medical community. As a personal accomplishment, he successfully completed the Command and General Staff College by correspondence. The unit returned to Ft. Sam Houston in March 1999.
Upon his return from Bosnia, COL Angueira was assigned initially as Assistant Chief, Department of Health Plan Management and subsequently became chief of that department for a period of 2 years. In June 2001, he was assigned as Assistant Chief of Staff for Clinical Operations at Great Plains Regional Medical Command where he was responsible for all physician related issues including deployments and contracting actions for all 10 regional Medical Treatment Facilities. In May 2004, COL Angueira was assigned to BAMC as Deputy Commander for Clinical Services. As the DCCS, he was directly responsible for the medical care provided to all Wounded Warriors, their families and over 50,000 beneficiaries. During his 4 year tenure as the principal deputy, he not only performed all assigned duties with distinction but also served as Interim Commander on innumerable occasions when the Commanding General was not present. Under his leadership, BAMC achieved such notable milestones as a Joint Commission accreditation, certification as a Level 1 trauma center and the opening of the Center for the Intrepid and two new Fisher houses. In August 2008, COL Angueira returned to a full time clinical practice as a staff gastroenterologist at BAMC.
COL Angueira retired from active military service in April 2009 and, that following July, he entered the ranks of Civil Service employees at BAMC as a staff Gastroenterologist. Currently, he is the Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at BAMC and serves as core faculty, clinician and luminal/biliary endoscopist.
His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service, Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, NATO Medal, Army Serviced Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge and the Army Parachutist Badge.
He is married to Dr. Wanda D. Angueira and has two sons Carlos and Francisco.

Biography
I have been involved with USUHS teaching programs for over 14 years, as a fellow and key faculty at various institutions. During this time, I have taken an active leadership role in clinical, academic and research programs and have been recognized for teaching excellence at every level of training, and as a staff physician. Having served on academic, research, and administrative committees at local, regional, DoD, national, and international levels, I have a broad perspective on organizational functions and problem solving for academic medicine programs. As a medical officer with two specialties and varied assignments in academic, clinical, and operational medicine, I have had a breadth of experience for over 26 years, which has allowed me to contribute to the advancement of military medicine through work in international health, operational medicine and military medical leadership. In addition to these experiences, I have also contributed significantly to the advancement of academic medicine through clinical education, curriculum development and research.
I have been actively involved in developing new training programs and curricula at different institutions and at the international level. Prior to my fellowship, I established a program in ambulatory Internal Medicine for fourth year medical students at the University of Heidelberg, and wrote the curriculum for that rotation. I also established linkages to U.S. training programs, whereby those students could study abroad (Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Wilkes-Barre Veterans Administration). I also established and taught an elective in medical writing for German medical students, which has led to several publications for those students. My effectiveness in mentorship is evidenced by providing the concept, substrate, and funding as the principle investigator for the winner of the 2010 The Rear Admiral Phillips Research award and the Bailey K. Ashford Clinical Research award. The resulting manuscript, of which I am the senior author, "Gram Negative Multidrug-Resistant Organism Colonization in a U.S. Military Hospital in Iraq," by Ake J, et al. in the journal of Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.
Given my public health, international health, and leadership assignments, I have a strong research interest in infections affecting military trainees and deployed service
members. I participated in humanitarian assistance projects in Sri Lanka, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. From 2007-2008, I served as the Brigade Surgeon, 214th Fires Brigade, Forward Operating Base Delta, and Senior Medical Officer/Officer in Charge, US Level NATO Role II Hospital with Forward Surgical Augmentation in al-Kut, Iraq during one of most active periods of high intensity combat and counterinsurgency operations. As senior medical officer advisor to the brigade commander and infectious disease consultant for all facilities in south central Iraq and Kuwait, and consultant for multi-national coalition providers for serious IM and ID conditions covering >3500 troops, I treated > 800 patients per month during, and maintained extremely low died of wounds rate (1-2%) despite more than 70 major traumas. In Iraq, I re-defined the concept and value of the traditional MEDCAP transforming them into a collaborative medical engagement paradigm. This was highlighted in several publications and editorials in Military Medicine, Journal of Special Ops Medicine, and Clinical Infectious Diseases. I performed the proof-of-concept study which ultimately led to my cofounding and directing the Multidrug-resistant organism Repository and Surveillance Network (MRSN) at WRAIR. Additionally, I have mentored several students, interns, residents, and fellows on projects that have led to regional and national presentations, as well as scientific publications.
In addition to my teaching, clinical, international health, and research contributions, during my time as Cofounder and Director, the MRSN has won three Military Health System awards for healthcare innovation and readiness/ health protection and research (2010, 2013, and 2015) and achieved programmatic excellence as exemplified by getting the program specifically named in the White House National Action Plan to Combat Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria (POTUS Executive Order #13676). As featured in several major newspapers, the MRSN was the first to discover the emergence of a very concerning potential ‘superbug’ in the U.S. Throughout my career, I have continued to see patients and teach medical students as part of his responsibilities as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences and Assistant Clinical Professor at University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center. I have represented Army Medicine’s proud tradition of expertise through the publication of 139 papers and one book chapter, and executing numerous international public speaking engagements and membership on advisory boards and committees.

Biography
Medical Corps, United States Navy
Commissioned in May 1998, Commander Austin Parker earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Catholic University of America before attending medical school at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He completed Internal Medicine Internship in 2003 at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) and proceeded to Naval Undersea Medical Institute, earning the Diving Medical Officer qualification.
CDR Parker then served as an Undersea Medical Officer for Naval Submarine Support Center Kings Bay, GA, including 2 years as Department Head. While there, he earned the Submarine Medical Officer warfare qualification and the SSBN Deterrent Patrol insignia aboard the USS WYOMING (SSBN 742 BLUE).
CDR Parker then returned to NMCP in 2008 where he completed Internal Medicine Residency. He subsequently continued training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for Nephrology Fellowship, graduating in 2012.
After completing fellowship, CDR Parker returned to NMCP as a staff nephrologist, serving as Division Head from July 2013 until January 2015. From 2013 through 2016, CDR Parker served as the Director for Medical Services for USNS COMFORT (T-AH 20) in preparation for and deployment during CONTINUING PROMISE 2015. While there, he led over 90 healthcare providers from all branches of the US military, seven international partner militaries, and four non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in delivering healthcare to over 125,000 patients in eleven countries. Beyond the complexities of direct medical care in austere environments, his directorate also created extensive education programs for local providers, created and delivered a grand rounds lecture series, trained a cadre of 20 junior-/mid-grade officers as future Medical Engagement site leaders, and provided educational courses that led to over 40 officers earning the Humanitarian Assistance / Disaster Response AQD.
Beginning late in 2015, CDR Parker helped create and launch a new Professional Development program for Medical Corps officers. This quickly grew to become a command-wide program with average monthly attendance rising to over 100 officers. CDR Parker serves on several command committees and is the DMS representative to MEC since 2016.
CDR Parker is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, as well as a life-member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Eastern Virginia Medical School. His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal (four) and various unit awards.

Biography
Answering a call to serve as a military physician, Dr. Wilson matriculated into the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and graduated with his medical degree in 2002. After completing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2005, he returned to Fort Bragg and served as a staff internist at Womack Army Medical Center. Deploying with the 2-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment to Afghanistan from 2007-2008 as a Battalion Surgeon, Dr. Wilson returned to Womack to serve as the Chief of Internal Medicine. During his 15-month deployment, LTC Wilson worked extensively with the local Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), local Ministry of Health, and Afghan physicians to improve the medical services for civilians and Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).
In 2009, Dr. Wilson transferred to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) to stand up a new battalion medical section in the newly formed 4th Battalion. Deploying to Afghanistan a year later, he helped stand up the new Special Operations Task Force-Southeast in Uruzgan province. During the deployment, Dr. Wilson worked closely with the local PRT and AusAid to support the development of the Afghan civilian medical system. Following this assignment, LTC Wilson earned a Master’s Of Science Degree in Defense Analysis at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), concentrating on Stability and Reconstruction studies. His thesis explored the role of developing health and medical support for security forces as part of security strengthening efforts. In addition to this degree, Dr. Wilson earned a graduate level certificate in Security, Stability and Development in Complex Operations (SSDCO).
In June 2013, LTC Wilson was a General Internal Medicine Fellow at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he earned his Masters in Public Health and focused on medical education and global health. His research consisted of a needs assessment of the current medical sustainment program for Special Forces Medics. As part of the program, Dr. Wilson worked extensively with the Center for Disaster and Humanitarian Assistance Medicine (CDHAM) at the Uniformed Services University. His work with CDHAM included a review of their cultural training program and he serves as an instructor for the Global Health Engagement and Medical Stability Operations Course (GHEMSOC).
Following the completion of the General Internal Medicine Fellowship in 2015, Dr. Wilson assumed the role as the Command Surgeon for 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. In this position, he trained and prepared Special Forces Medics to deploy in support of current contingency missions, supervised the delivery of medical care to members of the organization, and ensured the unit’s medical readiness. He recently deployed as the Command Surgeon for Special Operations Joint Task Force-Afghanistan/NATO Special Operations Command Component-Afghanistan, where he supervised all medical support to Coalition Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan and directed the health engagement strategy to support Afghan Special Security Forces.
