Biography

LT Austin Haag is a healthcare economist by training and an Assistant Professor Preventive Medicine & Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and has worked with large datasets, including SEER Medicare data. Additionally, he has focused his research on Cost Effectiveness Analysis and Market Analysis. Some of his current research topics include:
- Evaluating the Fiscal and Readiness Impacts of Consolidating Care of Complex Patients in the National Capitol Region (PI)
- Surgical Outcomes in Minority-Serving Hospitals among Tricare Beneficiaries (PI)
- Opioid Overprescribing After Ambulatory Procedures (PI)
- Cost Effectiveness of Chemotherapy Treatments for Advanced Gastric Cancer Patients (Co-PI)
- Health and Socio-economic Status in the Military and Civilian Populations (Co-PI)
