Biography
LTC Sheets has two combat deployments and supported a recovery mission in Vietnam. She deployed to Iraq with the 67th CSH in support of OIF in 2004, where she helped establish the first detainee care facility at the infamous Abu Ghraib prison and spent her last three months of the deployment working in the Emergency Department in Mosul. She also deployed in 2011 with the 10th CSH in support of OEF to a multinational Role 3 hospital at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. LTC Sheets’ most memorable opportunity as an Army Nurse was providing medical support to a team on a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency mission to Vietnam in 2018.
LTC Sheets' honors and awards are: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5), Army Achievement Medal (4), Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 star), Combat Action Badge, Basic Recruiter Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
Particular interests include pediatrics, women’s health, austere/wilderness medicine, compassion fatigue. She loves caring for Soldiers, military families and retirees, and truly enjoys training medics. LTC Sheets understands the unique challenges that can come with being married to a service member, as her spouse is also an Army Nurse. She has two energetic boys and enjoys exploring the world, reading, and movie nights with her boys.
