Biography

Dr. Jeffrey D. Quinlan earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA in 1988. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine in 1992. Dr. Quinlan completed Family Medicine training at Naval Hospital Charleston, SC and at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA, and subsequently, completed a Maternity Care Fellowship at Florida Hospital, Orlando, FL. He has been stationed at Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy, Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL, and Navy Medicine Support Command, Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Quinlan is currently stationed at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, MD, where he has served as the Vice Chair in the Department of Family Medicine and the Interim Chair of the Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology. He currently serves as the Chair, Department of Family Medicine and the Chair, of the Student Promotion Committee.

He has served as Program Director of the Naval Hospital Jacksonville Family Medicine Residency Program and is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. He has deployed on three occasions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Additionally, he was appointed by the Navy Surgeon General as Specialty Leader for Family Medicine from 2010 - 2014.

Dr. Quinlan’s professional memberships include the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and AOA. He serves as an Associate Editor for the American Academy of Family Physician’s Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics program and is a member of the AAFP’s Commission on Health of the Public and Science.
