Biography

Colonel Kirk H. Waibel assumed duty as Allergy/Immunology Consultant to The Surgeon General on 24 April 2015, the Medical Director for Regional Health Command Europe Virtual Health on 1 May 2015, Allergy/Immunization Service OIC, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center on 1 July 2015, and Regional Allergy/Immunologist Consultant, Regional Health Command Europe on 1 July 2016. Colonel Waibel obtained his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX in 1993 graduating Cum Laude and a Distinguished Military Graduate while earning a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then earned his medical degree (M.D.) with honors at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX in 1997. After completing a pediatric residency in 2000 at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA, Colonel Waibel went on to complete an Allergy/Immunology Fellowship in 2002 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the AMEDD Intermediate Level Education, AMEDD Basic and Advanced Courses, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Flight Surgeon Course, Combat Casualty Care Course, Chemical and Biological Casualties Course, and Medical Effects of Ionizing Radiation.
