Biography

Lieutenant Colonel Lonnie Hodges is an Assistant Professor in the Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing and Nurse Anesthesia Program. He has been faculty at USUHS
since 2014. He was the Assistant Clinical Site Director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center from 2014-2016. Dr. Hodges is currently the Clinical Site Director at Eglin AFB, FL and provides both clinical and didactic instruction. As the Clinical Site Director at Eglin AFB, he is responsible for implementing the clinical curriculum, coordinating rotations to affiliated clinical sites for graduate students.

Dr. Hodges joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1991 as a combat engineer. After receiving an Army ROTC scholarship, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Hodges was a Distinguished Military Graduate and accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in 1998. Dr. Hodges served six years in the U. S. Army; two years as a Medical/Oncology ward nurse, and four years as a Surigical Intensive Care Nurse. In 2004, Dr. Hodges inter-service transferred to the U.S. Air Force, where he served for three years at Wilford Hall Medical Center's level I trauma SICU. In 2007, he attended the U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. He graduated with his Master's of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University in 2009. Dr. Hodges completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of North Florida in 2017.

Major military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, and two Army Commendation Medals.

He is married and has an undisclosed number of children
