Dr. Chang is a board certified Allergist-Immunologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Honors and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. She received her medical degree from University of Rochester School of Medicine in 2002. She did her internship and residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a Fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC from 2002-2007. She did additional training in Transplant Immunology at Georgetown University Hospital from 2007-2009 and was recognized as the Department of Defense's subject matter expert in Histocompatibility and its only ASHI certified Histocompatibility Director. As the new Director of the Transplant Lab at Walter Reed from 2009-2015, she modernized the laboratory and built DNA testing capabilities from scratch. In April 2015, she left he United States Army and transferred into the United States Public Health Service to pursue a career with the Food and Drug Administration to provide Allergy/Immunology expertise and guidance on the review and approval of Allergy/Immunology product development, analyzing clinical trial designs and data to determine safety, effectiveness and adequacy of labeling of marketed vaccine and allergenic products. She has been a staff clinical provider in the Allergy/Immunology clinic at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since 2007 and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics at Uniformed Services University.
