Biography

After residency graduation, Dr. Bunt joined the faculty in the joint military-civilian Family Medicine Residency program at Offutt Air Force Base and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. While in Omaha, NE, Dr. Bunt was the Director of Pre-Doctoral Education (Medical Student Coordinator) and served as the Assistant Residency Program Director. He also co-directed the Faculty Development Curriculum for all 42+ faculty members in the joint residency program and was the Director of the Evidence Based Medicine Curriculum for all medical students.

Dr. Bunt transitioned from Active Duty Air Force to the IMA Reserves in September 2016. With the Reserves, Dr. Bunt has continued to work with USU in his role as the Medical Director of the Military Primary Care Research Network. He also continues to support the Family Medicine Clerkship, help with recruiting for USU and support the Department of Family Medicine through mentorship of students and faculty.

Dr. Bunt's civilian job is in Undergraduate Medical Education at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is the Family Medicine Interest Group faculty advisor as well as the College of Medicine's Military Medical Advisor.

Dr. Bunt holds a secondary appointment in the USU Graduate School of Nursing, teaching in Evidence Based Practice.

Dr. Bunt's research interests include Evidence Based Medicine, Medical Decision Support and Faculty Development.
