BiographyCAPT Seda completed his undergraduate training at California Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Psychology. He then completed my Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at the Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola University. He was commissioned in the US Navy as a Clinical Psychologist in the Medical Service Corps and served for approximately 9 years. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology and served as a Clinical Psychologist at Naval Hospital Corpus Christi and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychopharmacology at the Uniformed Services University and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
CAPT Seda went to Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He then completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego and a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Chest Physicians.
CAPT Seda served as the Chairman of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the Naval Medical Center San Diego from 2013 to 2016. His research interests include obstructive sleep apnea, lung cancer screening, critical care and pulmonary medicine in humanitarian missions, and the practice of critical care medicine in the military.
CAPT Seda served as the Director of Medical Services for the USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) from March 2014 until November 2015 where he had a key leadership role in global health engagement, disaster preparedness, and coordinating direct health care to underserved populations in Pacific Partnership 2015.
In 2011, CAPT Seda was the sole adult intensivist and Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit, NATO Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit, Afghanistan providing critical care services to NATO coalition forces, Afghan National Security Forces, and Afghan national adult and children suffering from combat-related trauma.
CAPT Seda currently serves on the Society of Critical Care Medicine's Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) and Fundamental Disaster Management (FDM) committees.
