Biography

LTC Stephen (Steve) Lewandowski is an active duty U.S. Army Medical Service Corps officer who has served in the military for 20 years. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (OEHS) Division, Department of Preventive Medicine & Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Originally from Northwest Ohio, LTC Lewandowski completed his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy in 2002. He completed his Master of Science (SM) degree at Harvard School of Public Health and his PhD at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health. LTC Lewandowski has served in public health assignments including project officer at the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine-Europe, infantry brigade Preventive Medicine officer at Fort Lewis and Iraq, Chief of Environmental Health at Fort Belvoir, aide to the Assistant Surgeon General, and Deputy of Clinical Operations for the 62nd Medical Brigade. His experience in education includes serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering at West Point. LTC Lewandowski holds the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential. His research interests focus on environmental exposure assessment and effects of climate on health.
