Intramural Research Program (IRP)

The Intramural Research Program (IRP) is designed to promote research and assist USU faculty in becoming competitive for extramural research awards. The purpose of the program is to: 

1. Promote the creation of research projects and scholarly activities for university faculty and students

2. Promote excellent and innovative research to improve military readiness and the human condition  

3. Foster recruitment and retention of quality faculty 

4. Prepare faculty to be more competitive for extramural research funding  

Junior and tenured USU faculty that are categorized as billeted, non-billeted military personnel, and those that received a PI Eligibility Waiver are eligible to apply for IRP awards. (See PI Eligibility Policy for more information)
