The Anesthesia RIG is co-led by CAPT Lisa Osborne and CAPT (ret) Chuck Vacchiano. The ARIG’s current activities include the writing and publication of a pocket guide for anesthesia care in austere environments, led by retired Army CRNA Matt Welder. CAPT Osborne and the team have also been working to build connections between the ARIG and Defense Health Agency (DHA) workgroups so the RIG members may consult as subject matter experts when policy questions arise.
Interests of the RIG members range from bench science studies in animal models, to clinical safety bundles, to the factors impacting student success in CRNA programs, to the use of nitrous oxide for labor analgesia. All with an interest in anesthesia care and pain control are welcome - from students to seasoned researchers!
