The En Route Care Research Interest Group is led by Col Susan Dukes and Col (ret) Elizabeth Bridges. In addition to the revision of their very popular ERC battlefield pocket guide, the RIG’s current project is work on an en route care lessons learned journal issue. Members are putting together research papers on ERC training, patient care, and nursing/self-care for this issue, which will also feature a collaborative overview piece on en route care provided by the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The group is committed to collecting and sharing literature in the space and welcomes inquiries.
Interests of the ERCRIG members range from point of injury to hospital care and from handoffs, to IO access, to blood transfusion, to decreasing stress and pain in transport, to provider self-care. All with an interest in en route care are welcome - from students to seasoned researchers!
