The Brigade Executive Officer serves alongside the Brigade Commander as the officer who is second-in-command. He oversees the day to day operations of the Brigade and ensures that the Commander's intent is met at all times. The Executive Officer promotes the professional and personal growth of all members of the Brigade to ensure competitiveness for promotion, future jobs, and retention in the Uniformed Services. Responsibilities include ensuring good order and discipline within the Brigade and ensuring that the military training needs of each service are met.

The Director for the Military Personnel Office (MPO) serves as principal advisor to the commander on HR support and is the senior HR manager for the Brigade. The mission of the MPO is to plan, coordinate, and execute HR support for current and future operations for all USU military personnel consisting of over 1,500 Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines. The Director establishes and sustains the readiness of an organization and are critical elements in maintaining the personnel combat power of a unit. The MPO also provides direct oversight, technical guidance, inspections and support on all HR functions.

The Commandant of the USU School of Medicine is the senior military officer-in-charge of all officers assigned as students to the Edward Hebert School of Medicine. With the support of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Public Health Service Company Commanders, the Commandant exercises command and Control over the medical and graduate students assigned to the university.

The Commandant of the USU Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing is the senior military officer-in-charge of all Brigade-assigned GSN students including service members in the Army, Air Force, Navy and Public Health Service. The Commandant serves as the military advisor to the Dean of the GSN.
