Biography

Dr. Marina Shapiro’s background is in Science Education Research (Chemistry) and Learning Technologies. Dr. Shapiro’s research focuses on implementing virtual and augmented reality learning environments and technology enhanced learning into medical and health professions education curricula and patient care, accessible healthcare. Additional research includes guided-inquiry learning, decreasing educational gaps for first-generation students to prepare students to enter into
STEMM workforce and healthcare careers. Her teaching experience includes Chemistry and Biochemistry pre-medical and health professions courses.
Dr. Shapiro serves as reviewer for various journals and conference organizations.
