Biography

Dr. Christin DeStefano is a triple-board certified hematologist/oncologist, Hematology/Oncology Division Director for the Department of Medicine at USU, Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program Director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and Hematology/Oncology Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General. Her research interests deal with lymphoid and myeloid malignancies, immunodeficiency, and cancer epidemiology in military members. Dr. DeStefano co-leads the Clinical Research team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and also serves as Principle Investigator (PI) on multiple research protocols which include prospective clinical trials as well as epidemiologic studies assessing cancer risk and outcomes in military personnel. She is a member of American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, International Lymphoma Epidemiology Consortium (InterLymph) and serves on the editorial board for Journal of Clinical Oncology - Clinical Cancer Informatics. She previously served as an item-writer for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Hematology Certification Exam and participated in the Hematology Certification Examination standard setting meeting at the ABIM office in Philadelphia.
