Biography

Dr. Schulteis grew up in Wisconsin and graduated as a Distinguished Graduate from the US Air Force Academy in 1997. He officially began his Air Force career as a personnel officer assigned to MacDill AFB, FL before being accepted to medical school under the HPSP program. He completed his pediatric residency in 2005, and a chief residency in 2006 before being assigned as a general pediatrician to the 28th MDG at Ellsworth AFB, SD. Following his tour at Ellsworth, he completed a fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and was re-assigned to Wright-Patterson AFB in 2011 at a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician. He assumed the role of associate program director/program director, military component in 2014. His research interests include autism services, and in 2014, the Air Force Surgeon General funded his pilot program to bring the P.L.A.Y. Project to military families. The program has since expanded and is now poised to fill a critical void for the many Air Force families.
