Biography

Dr. Scott is a pediatric cardiologist and board certified clinical informatics specialist with 30+ years of experience in military and veterans' health care. He transitioned from military service in January 2020 and since April of 2020 has worked for the Veterans Health Administration. While in the Army Medical Department he had leadership roles in direct care pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, quality management, and information management. He worked in the office of the Assistant Secretary for Health Affairs and then in the Defense Health Agency on records and data management policy from January 2012 until November 2019. He also served on several interagency committees and work groups to improve coordination between DoD and VA. In his current position at VHA he supports the development of data management strategy to serve VHA's goal to be a high reliability organization and continues to promote DoD-VA collaboration toward those same goals.
