Biography

Chief Petty Officer Lynsay Macias joined the Uniformed Services University (USU) Center for Global Health Engagement (CGHE) in September 2018 as the LCPO of the Office of the Chief of Staff. She previously served as the USU Chief of Brigade Operations Department.

Chief Macias enlisted in the Navy in 2002. Following graduation of Basic Training, she attended and graduated from Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Chief Petty Officer Macias’ tours include Naval Branch Health Clinic, Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Virginia; USS SAIPAN (LHA-2), homeport in Norfolk, Virginia; Navy Environmental Preventive Medicine Unit TWO (NEPMU-2), Norfolk, Virginia; Naval Branch Health Clinic Fallon, Nevada; Washington Navy Yard Branch Health Clinic, Washington, D.C.; and her current position at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Maryland.

During her career, Chief Petty Officer Macias has supported a variety of operational deployments to include: medical care in support of detainees based at Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay; Commander, FIFTH and SIXTH Fleet maritime deployments that supported the Global War on Terrorism and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM onboard USS SAIPAN; forward-deployed Preventive Medicine support to U.S. bases supporting deployed service members in Kuwait; and an Individual Augmentation, combat deployment with First Medical Battalion to Afghanistan.

Chief Petty Officer Macias has earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Healthcare Management. Her personal awards include the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various service and campaign awards. She has also earned her Fleet Marine Force Warfare Qualification, the Enlisted Surface and Air Warfare Qualifications, and is a certified Master Training Specialist.
