The USU Brigade Commander is recognized as the “senior active duty military officer” of the university. It is the responsibility of the Brigade to ensure that uniformed personnel assigned to the university adhere to the appropriate standards set by their parent service.

The Brigade Senior Enlisted Leader is responsible for advising the Brigade Commander, faculty and staff on all matters concerning the morale, welfare, discipline and professional development of enlisted personnel assigned to the Command

BRIGADE OPERATIONS OFFICER

The Brigade Operations Officer assist the Brigade Commander in carrying out the responsibilities as the principal military advisor to the university President and Senior Leadership, in the organization, training, materiel, leadership and education deliverable to enable the achievement of tactical, operational and strategic objectives; directs and synchronizes staff actions and military support and services employed to facilitate the effective accomplishments of the Academic Program and home-station training activities.

The Brigade Headquarters Company Commander works directly with the Brigade Commander and promotes the professional and personal growth of all Brigade members of the Headquarters Company to ensure competitiveness for promotion, future jobs and retention in the Uniformed Services.

DIRECTOR FOR THE MILITARY PERSONNEL OFFICE

The Director for the Military Personnel Office (MPO) serves as principal advisor to the commander on HR support and is the senior HR manager for the Brigade. The mission of the MPO is to plan, coordinate, and execute HR support for current and future operations for all USU military personnel consisting of over 1,500 Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines. The Director establishes and sustains the readiness of an organization and are critical elements in maintaining the personnel combat power of a unit. The MPO also provides direct oversight, technical guidance, inspections and support on all HR functions.

COMMANDANT, SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

COL Catherine Kimball-Eayrs

The Commandant of the USU School of Medicine is the senior military officer-in-charge of all officers assigned as students to the Edward Hebert School of Medicine. With the support of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Public Health Service Company Commanders, the Commandant exercises command and Control over the medical and graduate students assigned to the university.

COMMANDANT, GRADUATE SCHOOL OF NURSING

COL Craig Budinich

The Commandant of the USU Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing is the senior military officer-in-charge of all Brigade-assigned GSN students including service members in the Army, Air Force, Navy and Public Health Service. The Commandant serves as the military advisor to the Dean of the GSN.
